The Best Sloppy Joe Recipe

Hey there, folks! Today, I’m inviting you to join me on a journey as we dive into crafting the best Sloppy Joe Recipe you’ve ever tasted. Get ready to indulge in the perfect blend of savory beef, smoky bacon, and a medley of mouthwatering seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 80/20 Ground Beef
  • 8-10 slices Bacon, diced
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • AB’s Burger Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns (toasted with mayo)

Instructions

Start by toasting the hamburger buns with a layer of mayo for that extra flavor.

In a hot cast iron skillet, cook diced bacon until crispy. Set aside on a paper towel.

In the same skillet, sauté finely diced onion and bell pepper until translucent.

Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a handy masher tool. Season with salt, pepper, and your favorite burger seasoning.

Once the beef is browned, add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and a hint of sugar. Stir to combine, creating a thick and flavorful mixture.

Incorporate the crispy diced bacon into the mix, letting it meld with the beef and veggies for about two minutes

Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the mayo-toasted buns, ensuring each bite is packed with flavor.

Optional: For an extra layer of indulgence, press the meat down with a spatula, ensuring every inch of the bun is covered.

Serve these Sloppy Joes that are a notch above the classic – loaded with savory bacon and sautéed veggies, all on a perfectly toasted bun.
