BBQ Wings

  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 pounds Chicken Wings
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  1. Begin by melting butter in a pot over medium heat. Add all the remaining sauce ingredients and combine using a whisk. Once it begins to bubble, turn down the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and set aside until ready to toss with the wings. For convenience, pour the sauce into a large mixing bowl so that you can toss the wings and serve immediately.

  2. Pat chicken wings with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, ensuring a crisp texture. In a medium mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Add the wings to the bowl and toss with the cornstarch mixture. Set aside until ready to cook.

  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Boil the wings before baking to remove excess fat and liquid. Fill a large pot with water, bring it to a boil, add the wings, and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove the wings from the pot, allow them to drain, and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
Toss the wings in the dry seasonings. Place the wings on a wire baking rack on top of a baking sheet. Ensure they are not touching to promote crispiness. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they reach your desired level of crispiness.

  4. In a mixing bowl, toss the wings in the prepared wing sauce and place them back onto the wire rack on the baking sheet. Place the wings back in the oven and broil for 6-8 minutes, allowing the heat to "glue" the sauce to the wings.
