- 1 lb beef stew meat
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup sour cream optional
- 8 oz egg noodles cooked separately
Lightly brown the beef stew meat in a skillet over medium-high heat to build flavor. Transfer the beef to a crockpot or a heavy-bottom pot.
Add the cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix, stirring until well combined.
For the crockpot, cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours until the beef is fork-tender.
For the stovetop, cover and simmer on low heat for 1½–2 hours, stirring occasionally, until tender.
Just before serving, stir in the sour cream until smooth. Serve hot over cooked egg noodles.
