Servings: 8
- 5 14.5 oz cans cut green beans, drained
- 8 slices bacon cooked crisp and crumbled
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter melted
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Drain the green beans thoroughly to remove excess liquid and spread them evenly into the dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Transfer to paper towels to drain, then crumble into small pieces once cooled.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar begins to dissolve.
Pour the sauce evenly over the green beans. Gently toss to coat the beans so every bite absorbs the sweet and savory glaze.
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon evenly across the top. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven uncovered.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and slightly thickened. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the glaze to settle.
Serve warm and enjoy.
- For extra thickness, let the dish sit a few minutes before serving.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
- Reduce brown sugar slightly if you prefer a less sweet finish.
