- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Before draining the pasta, reserve about one cup of the pasta cooking water to help create the sauce later.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic and sauté for about five minutes until the onion softens and becomes fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook while breaking it apart with a spoon. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the beef mixture. Gradually add a small amount of the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce and help it coat the pasta smoothly.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue mixing until the cheese melts completely into the sauce, creating a creamy and smooth texture.
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and gently toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy beef sauce.
Serve immediately while hot and garnish with extra Parmesan cheese or fresh parsley if desired.
