  • - 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • - 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • - 1 tablespoon paprika
  • - 1 tablespoon salt or to taste
  • - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • - 1 tablespoon cornstarch * optional – helps thicken sauces when cooking*

Instructions

  • Line up all your spices so you're ready to measure and mix without missing a beat.
  • Use measuring spoons to portion out each spice exactly as listed above. Double or triple the batch if you want extra on hand.
  • Add all spices to a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined with no clumps. The color should be rich and even throughout.
  • Pour the finished seasoning blend into an airtight container (mason jar, spice bottle, etc.). Label it with the name and date. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

Use about 2–3 tablespoons of seasoning per 1 pound of meat, depending on your flavor preference.
