Ingredients

  • 10 lb Bone-in Fully Cooked Ham
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  • Place the ham face down on a cooling rack inside a roasting pan. Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan to create steam. Cover the ham with aluminum foil, ensuring it's sealed. Steam the ham in the preheated oven for the first 20 minutes.
  • While the ham is steaming, prepare the glaze. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp. of butter. Add 1/3 cup brown sugar, allowing it to melt and combine with the butter. Pour in 1/2 cup bourbon and let it cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce the alcohol content. Add 1/4 cup honey to the mixture and stir well. Set aside the glaze.
  • After the first 20 minutes, remove the ham from the oven.
Brush the ham with the prepared glaze, ensuring even coverage. Continue to brush the ham with the glaze every 30 minutes for the next 3 hours. Maintain the oven temperature at 325°F.
  • Once the internal temperature of the ham reaches around 140°F, remove it from the oven. Switch the oven to broil.
Apply an additional layer of glaze to the ham. Place the ham under the broiler for a few minutes until the glaze caramelizes. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  • Allow the ham to rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve the honey bourbon glazed ham slices with your favorite sides or make delicious sandwiches. Enjoy your festive and flavorful honey bourbon glazed ham!
