Hot Honey Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¾ teaspoon red chili flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon zest optional

Instructions

  • Combine the honey, chili flakes, chili powder, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring gently, until the honey becomes warm and fluid. Do not boil.
  • Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool slightly. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then transfer to a clean airtight glass container.

Heat intensifies over time, so start mild
Store for up to 2 weeks at room temperature
