Ingredients

  • 10-12 lb Fully Cooked Ham
  • 20 oz Canned Pineapple Slices with pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • Maraschino Cherry for topping

Instructions

  • First things first, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (163 degrees Celsius)
  • Now, we're going to create the glaze. In a saucepan, I'm combining the pineapple juice, brown sugar, ground cloves, and cinnamon. Stir until it's all mixed nicely.

  • Next, we add the honey to the saucepan and continue to stir until everything is well combined.

  • In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with an equal amount of cold water to create a cornstarch slurry.
Gradually pour the cornstarch slurry into the saucepan, all while stirring. This will help thicken up the glaze.

  • I'm heating the saucepan over medium-low heat and continuing to stir until the glaze thickens. Once it reaches the consistency I want, I'll remove it from the heat.

  • Alright, now we have our glaze ready, so let's move on to preparing the ham. I'm using a 10-12 lb fully cooked ham here. If your ham is spiral-cut like mine, insert the pineapple slices into the slices at an angle. This helps secure them in place, and I'm using toothpicks for extra security.

  • Now, pour some of that delicious glaze all over the ham. Make sure it's coated well. Cover the ham and the roasting pan with aluminum foil. It's important to leave a little space between the foil and the ham to avoid excessive browning.

  • The ham goes into the preheated oven at 325°F (163°C), and I'll bake it for about 1.5 hours. During this time, set a timer to check and baste the ham with the glaze every 30 minutes.
  • After 1.5 hours, it's time to pull the ham out of the oven. Remove the foil and add more of that tasty glaze over the top. Then, it goes back into the oven, uncovered. Continue baking for another hour or until the ham is fully heated through and has a beautiful glaze on the outside. I'll keep checking for the desired level of doneness.

  • Once it's done, I'll remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. If you like, you can garnish it with maraschino cherries.
  • Finally, I'll slice it up and serve my delicious Southern-baked ham with Pineapple Honey Glaze.
