Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp crushed peppercorns
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 2 sprigs thyme

Instructions

  • Start by seasoning both sides of the ribeye steaks generously with kosher salt and black pepper. Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes so they cook evenly and develop deeper flavor.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add avocado oil. Allow the oil to get hot so the pan is ready to create a proper sear on the steak.
  • Place the steaks into the skillet and let them cook undisturbed. After about 2 to 4 minutes, the steak will naturally release from the pan once a crust has formed.
  • Flip the steak and cook for another 3 minutes on the second side. Add garlic cloves, rosemary, and thyme during this time to infuse the steak with flavor.
  • Once the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, remove it from the skillet and transfer it to a plate or cutting board.
  • Let the steak rest for several minutes before slicing or serving. This step locks in the juices and keeps the steak tender.
  • Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
