Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh ginger Minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine water and soy sauce over medium heat.

  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the saucepan. Keep stirring to infuse the flavors into the sauce.
  • Stir in brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Continue to cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

  • Taste the sauce and adjust sweetness or saltiness if needed. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, add more honey; for a saltier taste, add more soy sauce.
  • Once the sauce reaches the desired thickness, remove it from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
