Spaghetti Bake Casserole

- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 lb Italian Sausage Mild – Spicy
- 16 oz Spaghetti I like angel hair pasta
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes
- 15 oz Tomato Sauce
- 3 tbsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp Garlic Clove Minced
- 1 tsp Salt To Taste
- 1 tsp Fresh Black Pepper
Cheese Layer
- 8 oz Cream Cheese Room Temp
- 8 oz Cottage Cheese
- 8 oz Sour Cream
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Shredded
- 2 tsp Dried Parsley Can use fresh if available
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Cheese Topping
- 2 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese Shredded
- 1 – 2 tsp Dried Parsley
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit.2. Cook spaghetti in salted water 1 minute shy of al dente. Pasta will continue to cook as casserole bakes, so it is important not to over cook. Drain in colander. Toss in butter. Set aside.3. While pasta cooks, begin to brown beef and sausage together on the stovetop in a large skillet or Dutch oven. Add diced onion as meat browns. When browned, drain any excess fat, then return meat to skillet. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce, along with Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, & pepper. Let simmer over low heat for 5 or so minutes.4. As meat sauce simmers, mix together all the ingredients for the “ultimate cheese layer” in a medium bowl or large measuring cup.

Spray a large casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the dish. Assemble as follows:
