Easy Homemade Krispy Kreme Glazed Donuts

Get ready to embark on a culinary journey that’s not only easy but also irresistibly delicious. Today, we’re taking those classic glazed donuts up a notch with some extra ingredients that’ll make your taste buds dance.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 1/4 cups Whole Milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Instant Yeast (one packet)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 8 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 1/4 cups Bread Flour
  • Oil for frying

For the Glaze:

  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: I used the SnG Food Thermometer to Heat up 1 1/4 cups of whole milk and activate 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast. Mix in 2 large eggs, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Gradually add 4 1/4 cups of bread flour. Knead until smooth and let it rise for an hour.

Cut and Rise: Roll out the dough, cut out donut shapes, and let them rise for another 45 minutes.

Fry to Perfection: Fry those beauties in hot oil until they’re golden brown on both sides.

Glaze it Up: Mix 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of whole milk, and a pinch of salt for the glaze. Dip each donut into the glaze, coating them thoroughly.

  1. Heat up 1 1/4 cups of whole milk in the microwave.

  2. Activate 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast by mixing it with the warm milk (around 110 degrees Fahrenheit) and let it froth for about 5-6 minutes.

  3. Melt 8 tablespoons of butter and let it cool.

  4. In a mixer with a dough hook, combine wet ingredients: 2 large eggs, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Gradually add in 4 1/4 cups of bread flour.

  5. Knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic.

  6. Let the dough rise for about an hour until it doubles in size.

  7. Roll out the dough to about half an inch thickness.

  8. Cut out donut shapes using a cutter.

  9. Let the donuts rise for another 45 minutes.

  10. Fry the donuts in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.

  11. Mix 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 cup of whole milk, and a pinch of salt for the glaze.

  12. Dip each donut into the glaze, ensuring they’re thoroughly coated.
